UPDATE 6/8/15: Abel was able to have surgery on one knee (fully funded thanks to our many Angels!) and is recovering at home. His mom plans to enroll in college this Fall with Abel, her service dog, at her side. The hope is to do surgery on his other knee in the near future. Any donations to help Abel have this other knee surgery would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE 4/9/15: So far, we have $2405 towards Abel’s surgery. As you can see, Abel still needs a bit more help from our Angels. Any amount, large or small, will help tremendously.
“Abel” was rescued from the animal shelter when he was 8 months old. He had been at the shelter for quite a while and was supposed to be put down the following day. I am so thankful I met this gentle loving soul, as he is my best friend as well as my service dog-in-training. I struggle daily with PTSD and fibromyalgia. If I begin to experience a terrible nightmare associated with the PTSD, he will awaken me. I also experience dissociative episodes and anxiety from the PTSD. Abel is being trained to assist me in my daily functioning. He is my lifeline to function in the world.
Abel needs bilateral TTA (knee) surgery which is estimated to run $3600 (one knee) to $5800 (both knees at same time). Any donations, large or small, to Azzore’s Angels for Abel’s campaign would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
“Abel” and his mom
