Chaz is a 6 month old, laid back, 47 pound Bulldug who suffers from bilateral angular limb deformity. His favorite activities are playing with his brother Spanky and earning doggy treats!
Chaz came to see Dr. Dew at Azzore Veterinary Specialists on April 1st for premature closure of the distal ulnar physis. In layman’s terms, the growth plate of his ulnar bone shut down too early, so this bone stopped growing while the radius continued to grow. This has resulted in moderate elbow incongruity.
Dr. Dew believes that this was an inherited condition, and that surgery will give Chaz a good chance at better elbow congruity and a better life.
This is a complex surgical procedure, but Dr. Dew has successfully performed many of these in the past. The estimate to correct both legs is over $4,000. Chaz’s original owner could not afford the surgery and has surrendered Chaz so that he could get the help he needs. Chaz’s new owner is trying to raise funds for the surgery, and contacted Azzore’s Angels for help.
No amount is too small. Please help us help Chaz. Click here to give. Even if it’s just a few dollars, every little bit helps more than you know.
UPDATE: Thanks to your generosity, Chaz’ treatment has been fully funded!
