UPDATE: Dez did have surgery performed by Dr. Dew. No patent ductus could be identified, and rather there was significant pulmonary artery enlargement at base of heart. Dez was referred to a heart veterinarian.
Dez was adopted from my local shelter. I wanted a playmate for Missy, my other baby I rescued from a bad home situation. Dez immediately bonded with Missy. When I took Dez to be neutered, the vet told me he believed Dez may have a serious heart condition. We had an Echocardiogram done which confirmed PDA, Patent Ductus Arteriosis, which is a serious congenital heart condition. Without surgery Dez’s life expectancy would not be very long and congestive heart failure would be in his near future.
Dez loves to run and play with Missy and he loves to eat each and every new bed I buy him! He is growing tall but not gaining weight because of his heart condition. Dez is loving, handsome and VERY mischievous, and he deserves a chance at a long happy life! Dez and I ask if you are able to help at all, please help, no matter what the amount, to help Dez and Missy be Forever Friends in our Forever home. Thanks to all, Dez’s Mommy.
