The call came in on Friday, July 26th. A young, injured cat was hiding in the bushes beside the road in a Fort Smith neighborhood. There was no identification on the kitty, and she was unable to walk. The Good Samaritans who found her suspected she had been hit by a car. They called a local foster mom for a rescue group and asked if she could help.
Friday was taken to a veterinarian Saturday. X-rays revealed that she had not been hit by a car, but had been shot. In both rear legs, her tibia and fibula were shattered.
So far, no one has come forward to claim Friday, and — before you ask — no, we do not know who shot her or why. What we do know, is that Friday is a very sweet and friendly kitty and because of the kindness of the good samaritans who rescued her, her foster mother, and the Forever Friends Humane Society, Friday will get the medical care she needs.
