UPDATE 3/8/16: So far, $20 has been raised for Karma’s surgery.
Karma is approximately 3 years old. She is a super sweet pit bull who gets along with both people and other animals. She has been in the shelter since October and passed her behavioral assessment with flying colors. Karma is also house trained and is perfectly suited for home life. She is heartworm negative.
Unfortunately, she needs surgery to repair her knee, and the shelter does not have the funds to pay this cost. Helping Karma get her surgery means she will have the chance to have a happy and full life; this is literally the difference between life and death for a shelter dog.
There are two potential options for Karma’s surgery. The best option according to Dr. Dew would be a tibial tuberosity advancement. On a dog Karma’s size, that surgery will cost $3,536. If we cannot raise enough funds for that surgery, we can do an Extracapsular Fascial Strip for $2,249, but Karma would still be lame for several months until she was completely healed. Since she is in a shelter that has many other dogs and cats to take care of, they cannot afford either surgery without your help!
Anything you can give to give Karma a second chance at life will be greatly appreciated and paid back with lots of good karma!
