“Lady” was rescued from the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter. While getting puppies related to an animal cruelty case, her foster mom noticed this sweet little dog with its tongue hanging out to one side. The foster mom thought “Lady” might have hanging tongue syndrome but after getting her home, feeling her jaw and looking at her teeth, it seemed as if there was a gap in the jaw bone on the side where the tongue was hanging and some teeth were loose. She took her to a local vet who verified Lady’s jaw was broken in 2 places and he advised Lady would need Dr. Dew’s special attention. This sweet dog has the best disposition for an animal who has been through so much. The broken jaw effects her eating and drinking and has caused some of her teeth to rot. She never complains and always has a smile on her face. The vet speculated that she may have broken her jaw trying to chew out of some constraints. She tested negative for heartworms and otherwise appears healthy. It is estimated that her surgery, scheduled for 12/10/14, will run $1500-2200. Any help for this sweet girl will be greatly appreciated.
