This is Lucky, he is a 9 year old, border collie mix. He loves toys that make sound. He’s a big teddy bear and always wants to be with somebody. He loves to be brushed and loves attention. He is a very good dog and very protective of his family. He is also very smart, sensitive, loving and a little spoiled too.
We were heartbroken and very sad after the loss of our dog Chloe. A few months later we decided we would go to the pound and look into possibly rescuing a collie that needed a home. We arrived at the pound and immediately knew that he was the dog we wanted after seeing him, and we adopted him that day.
That was almost eight years ago when we rescued Lucky. He was a sweet, tri-colored, Collie-mix puppy and we fell in love with him. He is now grown and a very special member of our family and we love him very much.
During the last few years he has had some problems with his health. He has had some weight gain and fatigue as well, which has caused him to get less exercise and not be as playful. He loves to be out doors, go for walks, chase rabbits and squirrels and just be with us, but hasn’t been able to as much.
Last month we noticed he was limping on his back left leg and thought he might be having hip problems, so we took him to his vet. After examining him, he informed us that it was worst then expected and referred us to Dr. Dew. Dr. Dew has determined that he has a partially torn cruciate ligament and needs a (TTA) Tibial Tuberosity Advancement. This is heartbreaking because Lucky is having a very hard time moving around and at times does not want to even get up at all.
Unfortunately, there are no other options other than surgery. The cost for the surgery is $3,798. Please help us help Lucky by making a donation toward his surgery expenses, no matter how small, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
