My name is Paige. I am about six years old. I was found on I-40 this morning by a Good Samaritan after I had been hit by a car. I have an ilial fracture and a dislocated hip. At first the doctor thought I was going to lose my leg. But, he consulted with another surgeon just in case.
I will have a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). Basically, he is going to cut off the head of my femur that normally fits inside the joint socket. It will mean a lot of physical therapy for me, but I’m a good girl and I’m sure I can handle it… although I may need to be muzzled during therapy.
But, I do need your help. Dr. Oates at the Russellville Animal Clinic is going to discount my surgery fee… a lot. But it’s still a lot of money. We need to raise $600 to pay him for my medical treatment. If you can make a donation, I would appreciate it!
I also need someone who can take me in and provide me with a loving, safe home. Like I said, I’m going to need physical therapy to make sure that I can still use my leg. So, it won’t be easy. If you would be willing to foster me during my rehabilitation, you could help make me an adoptable dog so that I can then find a forever home.
If you think you are up to providing physical therapy and a foster home for me, or a permanent home once I’m healed, please contact Azzore’s Angels. And, don’t forget to click on the “donate” button below to help pay for my surgery.
11/15/13 UPDATE: Thanks to your generosity Paige’s surgery has been fully funded!
