Sweet Abby …. Abby is the type of dog that everyone loves as soon as they lay eyes on her. She is only 3 1/2 years old and already has had to deal with more hardship than anyone can imagine. Once upon a time, Abby had a home, and a family, and children who loved her. She was the center of their World. Then the news came that Abby had bilateral hip dysplasia. Her family was devastated when they learned the surgery could cost close to $5,ooo. Abby already had an old torn ACL injury which needed medical attention and the additional news of the hip surgery was just more than the family could afford. With heavy hearts, they asked Southern States Rescued Rottweilers (SSRR) to take Abby into our family.
We agreed and now we are at the point that we need to raise the money for Abby to have her surgery. Her hip issues prevent her from being as active as other dogs her age but she still loves to run and play for short periods of time. Even though Abby has been dealt a tough break, she makes the best of her situation, she is the sweetest, most lovable girl ever and provides daily kisses to her fur brothers and foster mommy. Her AWESOME foster mom currently takes her to acupuncture ONCE a week to bring her some comfort and provides Abby with daily pain and anti-inflammatory medication to feel her best . Abby also loves to talk!! She will carry on whole conversations with you!! This sweet baby deserves to have a life without pain and we are determined to give her that life. If you are able to donate to Abby’s medical fund, please help us help her!! Abby and SSRR would be eternally grateful for any support !
The current plan for Abby is to take care of her torn ACL first by performing a TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement). When Dr. Dew examines her, he will see if she is also a good candidate for ACell injections for her hip dysplasia. So, her expenses will be between $2,989 and $3,761.
Funds for rescue groups are always tight… there are so many animals in need. SSRR cannot pay for Abby’s medical treatment without help. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help pay for Abby’s surgery. No amount is too small. You may donate by clicking on the button below.
UPDATE 04/01/14 – So far we have received $595 toward Abby’s medical expenses. We still have another $3166 to go.
