This is my Grandson, TJ, with his best buddy, Sloan. She was one of a litter of four puppies. She was destined for the shelter, but my wife brought her home for our Grandson. Most people wouldn’t think she is anything special. She’s just a little Yorkie/Corgi mix. But to my grandson, she is his whole world.
Sloan is one of those dogs that just hasn’t seemed to catch a break. She has had medical problems since we brought her home. She had an abscess on the side of her head. Then it was a soft tissue mass on her left side. And now this. It started out with a spot on her nose. We thought it was a spider bite. But it kept getting worse, and medication wasn’t helping. That isn’t her tongue. Dr. Dew believes that is an invasive tumor that involves her nasal plane. It needs to be removed.
Sloan is almost 5 years old. She isn’t a rare breed and she doesn’t do any trick. She likes to eat and play and she has a very mellow personality. Sloan gets along with everybody. Most important, she keeps TJ happy. We can’t afford this surgery, but we don’t want TJ to lose his best friend. If you can help with a donation — even a small one — we would be grateful.

02/26/14 UPDATE: So far we have received $100 of donations toward Sloan’s surgery. We still need another $2,200.
